Message In an attempt to help other 300zx owners, I've compiled a short list of problems that I had with my car (1990 twin turbo) and have found the root causes for. These were all things that were not readily apparent during initial inspections or after extensive TT.net searching. That's not to say other posters never came to the same solutions, but that there were multiple causes and conflicting information.

**Severe wheel hop (especially while turning): First I tried subframe spacers which did not help. A full swap of all rear suspension bushings (energy suspension), including anti-roll bar and differential bushing totally cured this problem. Not only was the wheel hop gone, but breakaway into overstear is much smoother and easier to control. Also rear roll and responsiveness was improved. I was surprised how dramatic the difference was especially since the removed stock rubber bushings were not obviously damaged.

**Stuttering, rough running, very poor off idle throttle response only on cold mornings prior to engine warm up: I had this frustrating problem for a very long time. One day the car would only run on 5 cylinders. The troubleshooting lead me to resistance check my fuel injectors. The injector for the dead cyclinder tested with infinite resistance. Three other injectors tested well outside of the allowables. Replacement of the injectors totally cured this problem. My theory is that internal wires and/or solders were cracked or separating and during the cold conditions the continuity of the injectors would decrease causing the symptoms.

**Oil leak on the front of the engine: After an engine pull to fix a myriad of problems the first start up of the engine showed an oil leak somewhere under the timing belt covers that was severe enough that the car was undrivable. Approximately a year prior I had the timing belt replaced at the dealer along with all four camshaft front seals and the front crank seal. After removing the covers and using UV dye I localized the leak to behind the drivers side intake cam area. First I tried replacing the VTC spring which did not change the leak at all. I removed and replaced the intake cam pulley and this totally fixed the leak.

I'm sure there will be more before this is all over, but these were the three most frustrating problems I've had. Hopefully this will help someone else who is having similar problems. Unfortunately none of them had easy solutions, but knowing is half the battle. Good luck.
